Meet the Team!

The energetic team of Teresa Watkins and Tony DeSormier owns Art in Bloom Garden Tours.

Teresa is a garden author, landscape designer, horticulturist, and radio personality. Watkins also owns Sustainable Horticultural Environments (SHE), where she designs unique, beautiful, and award-winning sustainable landscapes. SHE received the Best of Houzz Service award nine years in a row. Over the past 25 years, more than 40,000 green industry professionals, Master Gardeners, Master Naturalists, and homeowners have attended Teresa’s landscaping talks and programs. Her educational offerings range from the basics of environmental conservation to themed designs like fairy gardens and xeriscaping.

A member of Garden Communicators International and a 25-year veteran of her award-winning garden radio show, In Your Backyard, Teresa now hosts Better Lawns and Gardens, Florida’s most popular syndicated garden radio program on WFLA-Orlando, iHeart, iTunes, and anywhere you get podcasts. Teresa has written numerous articles on gardening and authored three volumes of the ongoing series A Gardener’s Compendium, which features collections of gardening quotes and anecdotes with well-researched sources and contexts. She enjoys traveling and leading gardening tours, checking off national and world gardens on her ‘bucket’ (pronounced ‘bouquet’) list.

Tony holds a Master’s Degree in Liberal Studies from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Over the past 20 years, he has taught humanities courses at Valencia and Seminole State colleges. A writer by profession and a storyteller by hobby, Tony complements Teresa’s extensive gardening knowledge with insights into historical and cultural topics. Alongside working with Teresa to transform their bungalow property into a diverse collection of gardens, Tony is also an enthusiastic cross-stitcher.

Together, Teresa and Tony aim to boost the respected reputation of Art in Bloom Garden Tours by sticking to the existing trip schedule and adding new destinations.

“Tony and I are excited to offer these wonderful experiences to the “growing” community of garden and travel enthusiasts. Our tours are designed for small groups of like-minded travelers and provide intimate experiences in art, gardens, architecture, and local cuisine.”

Successful Club Fundraising

Follow the path to successful fundraising for your club and have fun along the way! Funding your garden club projects is easy when you partner with a company whose passions align with your own. We are gardeners too!

You can make money for your club while visiting America’s best-loved public and private Gardens. Garden-themed group travel is the answer, and we will help you every step along the way. Follow these simple steps to success:

  1. Select a garden tour from the Our Tours page on this website. Or ask us to create a three-day or more extended tour to a destination of your choice.

  2. We will provide a package price based on your group size, tour length, and destination. Then add your profit to the per-person price. This amount is tax-deductible for your participants.

    • Example: If you add $200.00 to each person's tour and sell 20 spots, you'll earn $4,000.00! This amount can be any figure your garden club chooses.

  3. All you need to do is promote the tour to your club members and their friends and families, if you wish. We will gladly create flyers for you!

  4. If you don't have a garden tour fundraising chairperson, you do now! We will handle reservations and book hotels, attractions, restaurants, and transportation. We will also manage deadlines, coordinate all details, and provide an experienced professional group leader skilled in handling logistics, passenger needs, and rare emergencies.

  5. There is no charge for our services. Our team includes professional administrators, tour guides, horticulturists, and gardening enthusiasts!

We are a fully licensed and insured tour operator. Our tours are guaranteed to excite your senses, boost your club's vitality, and increase your club's bank account!
